Threat Disruptions, Security Threats, and Threat Reporting

1. Purpose

This policy outlines how Buddylynk handles threats, security risks, and disruptive behavior. Buddylynk is committed to preserving the safety, integrity, and stability of its platform and community.

2. Threat Disruptions

2.1 Definition

"Threat disruptions" refer to actions or behaviors that interfere with the security, functionality, stability, or normal operation of the Buddylynk platform.

2.2 Prohibited Activities

Users may not engage in or attempt any of the following:

  • Disrupting platform services, servers, or network operations
  • Introducing malware, viruses, or malicious code
  • Attempting unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or databases
  • Conducting denial-of-service (DoS) or distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks
  • Tampering with platform features, security mechanisms, or user data
  • Exploiting bugs, vulnerabilities, or security gaps for harmful purposes

Buddylynk may suspend or remove accounts involved in such disruptions and may take additional legal action when required.

3. Security Threats

3.1 Definition

A "security threat" is any activity, content, or behavior that poses a risk to the safety, data, or privacy of users or the platform.

3.2 Types of Security Threats

The following are strictly prohibited:

  • Hacking, cracking, or attempts to compromise platform infrastructure
  • Phishing attempts or deceptive methods to obtain sensitive information
  • Distributing personal data of others without consent (doxxing)
  • Selling, trading, or sharing login credentials
  • Impersonating staff, law enforcement, or security officials
  • Attempting to manipulate or bypass authentication systems

3.3 Platform Response

Buddylynk may respond to security threats by:

  • Blocking or removing harmful content
  • Restricting or terminating accounts
  • Logging and monitoring suspicious activity
  • Informing users of potential risks
  • Reporting serious incidents to relevant law enforcement agencies when legally required

4. Threat Reporting

4.1 User Responsibilities

Users are encouraged to report:

  • Any credible threats of violence
  • Attempts to compromise accounts or data
  • Suspicious messages, emails, or login attempts
  • Vulnerabilities, bugs, or security weaknesses
  • Harassment, intimidation, or dangerous behavior

All reports must be submitted through Buddylynk's official reporting tools or via email.

Alternatively, threats can be reported through in-app reporting features where available.

4.3 Confidentiality

Buddylynk handles all reports with confidentiality and only shares information when necessary to address safety concerns or meet legal obligations.

4.4 Response and Investigation

Buddylynk will:

  • Review reports promptly
  • Take actions based on severity and risk
  • Remove harmful content when required
  • Suspend or terminate involved accounts
  • Escalate imminent threats to authorities in compliance with applicable laws

5. No Tolerance for Violence or Harm

Buddylynk maintains zero tolerance for threats involving violence, personal harm, property damage, or intimidation.

Such behavior may lead to immediate account termination and possible legal escalation.

6. Policy Enforcement

Buddylynk reserves full discretion in enforcing this policy. Actions may include warnings, temporary restrictions, content removal, permanent account suspension, and legal reporting when required.
